Traffic Diversion Program
The Paulding County Municipal Court’s Traffic Diversion Program is designed to assist with the processing of minor misdemeanor, non-accident violations. This program helps to promote safe
driving through education and to efficiently resolve cases without going to pre-trial or trial. Eligible Candidates who successfully complete the program avoid conviction and are able to
keep the violation off of their driving record. Participants will be required to sign an agreement, complete an online traffic safety course, pay a $250.00 non-refundable program fee,
and pay their waiver or ticket.
- Eligible candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

- Received a traffic citation with an eligible offense which includes most non accident, minor misdemeanor moving violations.
- Non-Eligible offenses include:
- Speeding in a school zone;
- Speeding in a construction zone;
- Speeding 20 MPH or more over the limit;
- School bus stop sign violations;
- Reckless Operation;
- Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle.
- Committed no other moving traffic violations within the twelve (12) months preceding the date of this violation;
- Committed no more than one (1) moving traffic violation in the three (3) years preceding the date of this violation;
- Not be involved in a motor vehicle accident or having caused property damage at the time of this violation;
- The vehicle the Candidate was driving on the date and time of the offense was covered by the required insurance;
- NOT hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL);
- Complete the Traffic Diversion Program within sixty (60) days of the arraignment date.
- Candidate willfully executes a Time Waiver and agrees to the terms and conditions of the Traffic Diversion Program.
- Not previously completed this program or a substantially similar program;
- Not be rejected from the program; and
- Out of State Candidates will be required to provide a certified copy of their driving record at their expense.
